CM7 no add google account?

I'm new to CM7, but I am trying to get used to it. I searched for help on this topic, and although I did not look thoroughly, I found only one thread with this question, and it had no replies and was not on androidcentral.
My question is, how do I add a google account?
When I launch the market, it asks me if I want to add a google account now. I click yes, and it opens the home screen/launcher.
So I went to Settings>Accounts&Sync>Add account, but there is no google account option, and I don't know the domain to where my google account is stored. Is there anyone who has/had this problem and knows how to fix it?

I think others have had this, and it was due to an improper wipe. I would try again, and make sure to wipe fully as the rom creator suggests.

Without redoing it or getting a new rom, is there any other way? I have to use market.android.com to browse the market and it's difficult to receive emails.

I'm sorry; I realize what I did incorrectly. I forgot to flash an empty rom.
