CNET Rates Inc. better than Iphone 4

I am not one to make a big deal about one phone VS. another. But it does get a little annoying hearing how much better the I phone is because they add features that every other phone already had. With that being said it is nice to see how the Incredible is rated higher by CNET then the I Phone 4. Not by much but it is and it is an editors choice.

I would take the Incredible over the Iphone any day of the week. And that is before I new about the yellow spots on the screen or when you hold the phone with your left hand you lose reception. ;)

Do you have a link for that? I only see the one where it wins out above the 3GS, not 4.

Wow. Alot of reviewers on cnet seem to be iphone fans too. I love my DI and everything it does. That iphone left hand thing is a no go for me. I'm left handed. Not that I wanted the iphone anyways.

CNET did not put one phone VS. the other. The I phone 4 rated.1 less then the incredible. The I phone 4 did not receive an editors choice either. Also read the negatives for each phone and it is obvious which one they think is better. They struggled to come up with a real negative for the incredible.

Incredible The bad: You can't use voice and data at the same time. The multimedia experience is adequate but still behind the competition.

Iphone The bad: Multitasking entails some trade-offs, and home screen folders are limited to 12 apps. AT&T reception continues to be spotty.

splitting hairs....
bottom line though is Mr. Jobs knows how to sell the consumer on the iphone.....

I love my HTC but our device got it's 5 minutes (not even 15 minutes) of fame (ESPECIALLY HERE) and now the device is Mr. Irrelevant.

Seriously this site is about three phones.....droid x droid and the evo.....
I am in a bad mood tonight....
If I could call in right now I would and say welcome to the EVO Podcast.

I know how you feel. The incredible has really been shortchanged, even though it's sold A LOT.

Either way, it's definitely one of the best phones ever, and for those who have it, it's 'quietly brilliant'.

+1... Well said.

I hear ya. Actually, we talked quite a bit about life cycles of smartphones, where the DInc falls in, and I believe I heard Jerry (and maybe Mickey) say he'd go for the DInc over the larger Droid X.

:p

I'm in the exact same boat (actually, I was going to write an email asking which is better, X or DInc, given the fact that the X is HUGE). I'm staying with the DInc, even though I will be well within my thirty days when the X is released.

I really think that it would be a good idea to talk about how smartphones (at least on the Android side) are getting BIGGER (underlined, bolded, and capitalized for a reason). The Engadget podcast had a good thing about these huge phones: They don't have this 'mass market appeal.' They appeal to nerds. They do. And nerds make up a very small percent of the population.

However Nerds make up a large percentage of posters on forums like this. The vast majority of smartphone buyers will never visit a user forum, never use or care about the nuances that Nerds start threads on and will keep their phone until their next upgrade rolls around. How many serious business professionals do you think slept outside an Apple store last night?

Sorry. I should have made clear that I'm a nerd, too. That's why I'm here.

I don't get your point of the post, though. No, I'm sure that not many business professionals slept outside of an Apple Store, waiting to get their hands on an iPhone 4. Those were the Apple nerds (or any other term you have for them).

Regardless, I don't imagine many people walking around with a phone that has a screen half the size of the iPad. Are they nice to have? Of course (the typing on the EVO is amazing). I just think that they are making mistakes, designing all these high-end devices bigger and bigger. The Incredible fits the spot that the Verizon iPhone would occupy. And it fits it very well.

I'm not hating on the larger phones, I'm hating on the supposed fact that two major players are both putting a lot of resources into something the majority of smartphone buyers won't get.

Holding an Evo makes me feel like I would be holding an iPad to my ear to talk on the phone and the X is even bigger. It's a compelling phone but I'm happy with my choice to get the DInc (at least I hope I will be when it gets here tomorrow....)

I'm just gonna say that CNET is awful. Regardless with what is better or worse or whatever, I've never been a fan of their reviews. It seems like almost everything gets 3.5 or 4 stars anyway.

Forget the size for a minute. The huge thing the Incredible has over the X is Sense. Sense alone makes our phone better then the X. So that takes the X out of the picture as far as I am concerned. The EVO has Sense as well but is much larger. I have never held the EVO but I have held the HD2. I thought it was ridiculously big and did not feel right in my hand. So, I will also choose the Inc over the EVO.

The only complaint I have about the Incredible is the lack of accessories. I still do not understand why the cradle has not been released and question if it ever will.

Otherwise ladies and gentleman I do think we have the best phone out there.

I love Sense as well, and honestly in the end of it all, when I went out and used the phone at a local Verizon phone SENSE is what was the deciding factor on the purchase.

Got one for me, and one for the woman...and we BOTH love it.

Enough power, geek appeal, and rootable customization for me.

Enough sexiness, ease of use, and "it just works" for her.

Strong enough for a man....and you know the rest ;)
