Samsung really needs to do better optimization with their UI

Samsung, Samsung how is it possible that 2 years old A series phones get so slow? Then I load up 250 € OnePlus or Realme phone that's 3-4 years old and still feels snappy and responsive?

I know a lot of people are Samsung users, and I'm sure S series phones age better considering the price you're paying. But they really should be doing better. I heard the other day someone trashing android as a whole because his Samsung UI got slow overtime. This company makes entire Android ecosystem look bad.

Welcome to Android Central! I moved this from the General News forum to the Galaxy A Series forum.

I had a similar experience with the Galaxy Tab A7 lite, which got progressively sluggish over a couple of years, even after a factory reset. I'm not sure if it was One UI or something else inherent in the hardware. It was almost like the very old FSTRIM issues seen on the Nexus 7, as well as other devices of the time, but that problem was patched a long time ago. I did have a Galaxy A32 5G for a while which never had any issues with slowdowns, though.

S23+, S24+ and S25 Ultra (all Snapdragon) have been better than Pixel phones.

I gave up on OP with the every other month updates and lackluster and short-term support.
Good point on their software update One plus and I think only 4 year major software updates.

I am always afraid when I see a Samsung update. Hate my UI getting shifted around, old settings getting reset, and sometimes I feel like my snappy phone is suddenly slower. My advice: Don't update unless it is essential for security.
