Color Note - all notes disappeared

I've been happily and successfully using Color Note for sometime (on my Motorola Droid). Today I added a new note. About two hours later I tried to reference that note and ALL MY NOTES ARE GONE! They are no where to be found! Any ideas? Any help? I had good and vital info on those notes!:-!

Geez, I wonder how his desktop sync/app is coming, was supposed to be ready at year end, and here we are. Have you tried the obvious, rebooting the phone? Do you have a file manager you can use to poke around in? Is ColorNote still showing in the apps list?

i have the same problem.

mine just got completely wiped--and i don't recall updating this app recently.

i simply restored mine. your notes are automatically backed up by the application.

in the app, press Menu>backup>enter your password (default is 0000), then it'll ask you which backup you would like to restore. click the restore date with the most recent time and make sure it doesn't show "0" in the box--that means there's no notes saved...however, you can also use that information to see exactly when your phone deleted all of your notes!

i just recently started using this app and I havn't had any problems with it yet. Will definitely keep this in mind though.

I have used this app with successful backups and restore from ROM to ROM. I will keep an eye out, it could be a SD card failure, as that is where the backups get written to. Did you change files recently?

Hi, this same thing happened to my girlfriend's phone and this is what i did to resolve it. First of all your color notes are automatically backed up to the sd card. I had to dig around a bit to find it though. It was located in a folder call "data" on the sd card. To restore these files, i simply tap one of the files and select restore. Checked. Reopened the app and all her noteswere there. I couldn't get her off of me all night. Hope this works for you.

I have had Colornote since it came out, never an issue.

I have "Auto" BK's set up & do an occasional "manual" BK with my pass to my external SD card (FYI: online sync is also available in settings)

The data for ColorNote is located on my external SD cared device: data/colornote/backup

So look for that location you should see numbered files named #-Auto (for auto BKs) & #-MANUAL with extensions of: .dat & .idx

You can also BK your notes online-sync in the settings menu to Gmail , fakebook & Colornote via AES email.

Check to see if it's still on your device go to: Settings - Applications - Manage Applications - ColorNote - (Move to Device (optional))

A : /data/colornote on sdcard
Q : I had to reinstall color notes notepad and there is an automatic backed up notes data that was stored but it requires a password and I hadn't set one up in the past. How do I retrieve that information?
A : Try default password '0000' (numbers)
Q: I forgot my master password, how can I change it?
A: Menu -> Settings -> Master Password -> Menu Button-> Clear Password. You will lose current locked notes when you clear password!

my galaxy s4 was broken and got a replacement....I synced the color notes yesterday but today when I looked for them ...they were gone...how to look up for them? also I took screen shoots of all my notes but I can open the pics has a strange symbol at the top of pictures...please help..thanks

I believe when I added an SD card to my phone I may have tried to move the colornote app to the SD card. From what I have read on the forums the phone or Verizon or someone/something doesn't like that. I had "backup" on for the colornote app and finally founf the files on the device not the sd card under myfiles/device storage then storage/emulated/0/data/colornote/backup the first file will be the most recent backup. Reinstall colornote then select backup. It will then go to the files which will have the dates. Pick the latest date and then choose restore. Pretty easy actually.

Only my locked notes are missing. I checked the backup files on both my phone and my sd card and they aren't there. Has anyone else had this problem with only missing locked notes?

You posted a short, but effective message giving help to the above problem. A couple of days after transferring my colornote to my new G5, all of my notes disappeared. I 'journal' alot about time spent with family and grandkids, etc and was heartbroken to lose them. Your remedy worked perfectly and I have now learned more about my G5 which I love. Thank you
