Really? This is the best you can do. Samsung Galaxy S5 is a great phone but to have to look at Teal and orange headers and schemes is just stupid. Who designs a OS and doesn't give options to change the colors? What gives? Why can't you release an update that will allow colors to be changed?

You're not alone--this is a common complaint. But to be fair, I've never encountered a device that allowed you to customize its stock UI to that extent. If you want that kind of control, you'd probably need to install an alternative launcher.

How hard is an alternative launcher and would it mess up the phone? How would i get it? I'm still quite new but fascinated in making the phone better or run as I want and...I like technology lol

Just go to Google Play Store, pick a launcher like Nova, and install it. Your TouchWiz launcher will still be preserved if you choose Nova as your launcher--it's pretty easy to switch back and forth.

FYI, I run Nova on my phone and still have the stupid colored headers and themes. I think it will take a lot more than a launcher change to fix it.

AmyC76, I use Nova launcher it was very easy to set up the way i wanted i.e. number of screens ans number of app trays. they also have icon packs if you wan to change those too. You can get Nova launcher on Google Play store.

Alternative Launcher is going to be your best friend. This is a common complaint with each version of Androids OS. In the future they may unlock more features. But for now change your launcher

I just bought a new Samsung Galaxy J5 with lollipop 5.1 . The colors suck. Installed a theme called Android 6.0 and then changed the background and lock screens. So much better. So yeah, change the theme and background to better suit your mood (took that from Sanatana/Rob Thomas - Smooth, lol)!
