I noticed yesterday that com.Amazon app using a huge amount of data on wifi & wireless.

I've used 500mb of my 2gb in just a few days.

I turned off that app but has anybody else noticed this?

Any suggestions for what to do to stop this other than turning the app off?

Is there anything in the settings set to allow the app to automatically sync in the background? If so, disable that or reduce the polling times. That is a lot of data to be consuming in the background if you are not using the app.

There were several Amazon apps installed (bloatware??) on the phone by Samsung/Verizon.

I think I logged into my account when I first got the phone. I never used the MP3 app but I use the shopping, Appstore and Kindle apps regularly.

The app that is using all the data is one that isn't separately listed in the drawer but can be found in the all apps in settings. There are no settings to be adjusted for that app.

I logged into all the apps again.

I may try turning them back on while I'm on wifi and see if they continue to eat up the data.
