Com.android.keyguard has stopped working

[AC Question]

On my dell venue 8, i am getting a com.android.keyguard message that will now allow me to unlock my device and access apps and programs. I know that keyguard is the lock screen. I'm not sure how to fix it so i can use my device again. It originally began happening when i did a hard reset to the system and has not worked since. Are there any solutions to this issue?
