I use a program called shutapp, It works kind of the same way as greenify I think.
I also use App Ops to set access lock for all my apps, and restrict them. I am not exactly sure what affect it has on battery life though... Can anyone comment on either of these two apps, and their ability to extend battery?
I used to use shut app but it was pointed out to me that its counterintuitive to the way android operates and that you don't need to keep turning everything off, so i uninstalled it to see. Yep sure enough, no change in battery life. I no longer use a battery saving app

Yeah I am aware of how Android uses ram and background apps for overall smoother / more efficient operation. Certain apps however seem to use battery power more than others when in background mode. Its those apps that I want to stop. Unfortunately with shutapp, its all or nothing, and I think in this respect greenify is better or at least more flexible.
The Amazon app for example for some crazy reason was continually running in my background. It was usually ~12%-18% of my battery when in standby mode. Try as I could to get it to stop... I simply could not. It would re-start at random. Meanwhile my battery reserve would drop from 95% to ~85% in a morning just sitting idle on standby. I have since un-installed the Amazon app and now I access it through a www browser.
I've noticed that with the Amazon app. Good idea to just uninstall and use on browser.

I've actually had better luck as time went on (3 weeks tomorrow)... the phone has built in battery monitor if an app is a battery hog, it'll notify you to stop it... guess that's been working since my battery life has gotten better... that and i uninstalled the facebook app lol..
Turn off cell / wifi data if its not being used.
The v10 can charge 0 to 100% in about 15 seconds, it's called put in your extra battery, got to love the removable back.....cheers

If you're not using it, turn off the 2nd screen - made a noticeable difference for me.
