Comparing the two since I just got the S9 plus to replace the V30, the signal in the S9 is 4 DB stronger than the V30 using SignalCheck Pro but the V30 has better audio record in video. I am happy with the S9 plus.

How does the battery life compare?

The other difference is Band 71. I don't think the 9 has it, the 30 for T-Mobile definitely does.

I have both a G30 and the s9+, and I live in a band 71 area. The g30 is "supposed" to get band 71 but it does not ( in fact I have 2 g30's and neither picks up band 71). I've had the s9+ since last Tuesday and band 71 comes in loud and clear.

The g30 has never actually worked on band 71 but the s9 hs since I took it out of the box and turned it on. I can sit the phones right next to each other and the g30 will be on band 2 and the s9 on band 71.

The US model S9 /+, G960U/G965U/U1 have band 71.

Only the t-mobile V30 - - H932 has band 71 on board

I tested low light camera on S9 launch event with my V30, S9 performed better than V30. But V30 is still my choice for its wide angle lens.
