But the cold immobilizes them out fall out of trees etc....it has been so mild compared to everywhere else but it is hell for the iguanas.
I see, so even with no snow, the colder temperatures still will cause them to be immobilie. That would really bother me to see one fall out of a tree.

I really like lizards. I have a family of Western Whiptails that live in my garage.
 
I had a pet iguana, she was such a character. We had her for 8 years but she passed a few years ago. I miss her.
They are invasive in Florida, not native. They were a popular pet here, and I used to have them as pets too. Now I almost see a ton of them each day, at least prior to the cold snap, and don't need to keep them caged. I have them each day when walking my more conventional pet, my dogs.

I live in Connecticut, it's much too cold up here for them to spread like that!
