SAMSUNG NOTE 4:
Brighter Screen (even brighter if you use 'Auto' in sunlight apparently) and 'Auto' brightness has a manual preference starting point which is a nice touch.
Multi Window
Swappable Battery
Micro SD Card - up to 128 GB
Fingerprint scanner
S-Pen
Ultra power save mode
Swipe to unlock
Virtual Reality accessories (VR written into the kernel, so will be very responsive apparently.)
Infrared - Is that useful?
Touchwiz

NEXUS 6
Front Stereo Speakers
Got 5.0 Lollipop now and will get earlier updates from Google ('Lollipop' for Note 4 maybe in December), also will update in future years when Note 4 probably won't.
Voice Commands from Standby - Though I read the Note 4 can be set up for this too but maybe with more cost to battery life?
Active Display - Notifications on Standby like Moto X?
Tap to Start ? - It seems not.
Wireless Charging (Add-on wireless charging cover is available for Note 4)
No Touchwiz. :) No bloat.
Advance replacement warranty via Motorola (assuming warranty policy is like their other smartphones) vs sending it in (Note 4)

BOTH
Good Screens - Similar size given that Samsung uses separate buttons
Fast Charging
Optical Image Stabilisation

These are some of the main differences I've read so far. Anything major to add I can edit in?

Thanks, I forgot the fingerprint scanner (works with Paypal and Lastpass - useful) and SD card. I think they both have OIS? Is 'unlocked' a big deal, I thought is was all going that way now anyway.

You're right - my error on the OIS, fixed in my initial post. The phone being available unlocked is irrelevant to most, but a necessity to anyone who wants freedom to work with different ROM's, etc.

Oh I see, I thought you meant carrier unlocked. I won't put it in the list anyway as it's probably not a deal-breaker for most people. I read that a 'Developer Edition' of the Note 4 is available for the same price btw, which allows unlocking for flashing ROMs. I think that was the only difference but I don't know anything about availability.

I'm actually warming up to the Nexus a little. I still need to hold one to see how I feel about the size (...I know...no jokes, please...), but the Note 4 that my coworker has didn't seem all that bad.

This helps allay some of my fears:

There's a great comparison app on the Play Store called Versus. It doesn't always list everything, and sometimes it lists pointless things, but it is for the most part very useful.

I sometimes put my Nexus 7 in my inside jacket pocket so I can't see a big phone being a problem as long as it wasn't too heavy. And anyway, with phones getting bigger every year, if it looks just slightly big now it'll seem normal a year from now. A big phone seems a good idea so you only need carry one device. I've got a Sony SBH 52 Bluetooth handset thing if I want to hide the phone anyway, though can't say I use it much.

I had started trying to use my Nexus 7 exclusively with one hand.... I found that it wasn't too hard and I only needed the other hand or my leg to balance the device during certain things... but I could still use the Swipe keyboard with relative ease across the device and do almost anything and everything one handed.... considering the 6 is considerably smaller with much smaller bezel it should be a breeze to use.... (Should being the keyword)

Guy at my job had the iphone 6 plus. I set up his email on it and was typing with one hand with no issues. Also had a case on it.

I have small hands but thats about it...

My wife has a plus it's really a nice screen size to have, and with android's you have all your buttons on the bottom it will be real easy to handle.

A 6+ with any sort of protective case is pretty much the same size as the Nexus 6. The case'd iPhone might be literally about a MM narrower, but that's pretty much it. Oh, and the case'd iPhone won't have the curvature.

This actually makes me laugh because of all the people that use the 6+ who say the Nexus 6 is too large. Including "trusted" review sites.

Alright...my wife has a Lumia 1520 from her employer and it is very close to the same dimensions as a nexus 6. I think I have to rule this beast out. There is no way I could pocket that thing. I thought I might be able to get over the size...but having a real world example of a similar size phone, I see it would never work out.
