Android Central Question

Ever since my phone updated from Oreo to Pie I have been getting the 'Complete Action Using' pop up, asking if I wish to select Google or Bixby Voice. I have used the Samsung S9 for a year with no issues at all, and following this update I just want to smash my phone in the ground.

Since the update the 'Complete Action Using' pop up is hanging up on phone calls I am trying to make or even in the middle of which is the most frustrating aspect. It is also affecting my Spotify and Mixcloud apps, causing them to start and playing music when the phone is not being used, and also changing the songs when I am actually using the apps.

I have tried resetting all settings which has not had any impact - if anything it has made the issue worse. The 'Complete Action Using' pop up has showed up at least 5 times in the last 5 minutes.

Please help!! How can I rid myself of this 'Complete Action Using' nonsense.

Thank you in advance.

Adware-malware?
Do you use Google Assistant and Bixby?
Clear cache partition and boot in safe mode

Start uninstalling apps
Go for nuclear option and wipe phone and set up as new without restoring

Are you selecting one of the options, say Chrome, but it still pops up evertime, or do you select 'just this time'?

Thanks for the response methodman. I've tried selecting both options, 'just this time' as well as 'always' (for Google, not Bixby) but it still keeps popping up. The issue initially seemed to be focused just on my music apps Spotify & Mixcloud which have been doing very weird things since the update, however I cannot find an option on my settings around default music players. However the worst issue now is when I am on a call or trying to make a call, the pop up disconnects the call. I use my phone for work so it is becoming a major issue

Thanks for the response Gayle. No I don't use either Google Assistant nor Bixby. And I've done virus scans with AVG and no malware has been detected. From my research this 'Complete Action using seemed to be an issue for some people last year upgrading to Oreo.

I've deleted Spotify as of last night, however the issue is still persisting. Will delete Mixcloud now and try your suggestions & will let you know how I get on

Welcome to the forums. Maybe the problem is related to the assist & voice input feature. I'm not sure if these steps will work in your Samsung model, if not search for a similar path. Go to settings - apps - advanced - default apps - assist & voice input - assist app - select 'none' and see if it makes any difference.

Hey I'm having the same issue on an s22. Is there any way you can help as It seems to happen everytime I go on my phone or exit out of an app
Welcome to the forums. Are you getting the same message for the Assistant app or for a different one, like the launcher? Which Android version are you running?

It's coming from cash app. I was told to delete it and reinstall it and it works until I spend money on cash app or receive money. It always says complete action using internet or chrome. I'm running the newest version btw

That's a bit different than the original problem in this thread. Try this, go to Settings - Apps - select the Cash app - Set as default - switch 'Open supported links' ON - tap 'Supported web addresses' and select the links that you prefer to open with the app.

Unfortunately it didn't work. I did it but when I turned off my phone and opened it back up it still popped up

Strange, it could be a problem with the app itself. Just in case send an email to their support and see if they have any solution.
