I have a rooted Galaxy S4 that I will be retiring in a couple of weeks. I've noticed that even when I do a factory reset/wipe from the command prompt residual files and folders remain on the card. How do I completely wipe out all folders and files so that when I install a fresh ROM there is nothing from my previous install available?

I'm not familiar with rooting but let me try to get someone that is and has a rooted GS4.

You're referring to the SD card right? You can format that from settings. Just go to storage > SD card > erase data.

Flash using Odin. That normally removes all crud from previous installations and ndroid backups
