Composing Text or Email

When composing a text or email, how do you cursor through the message to correct a mis-spelling? All I can find is the backspace button but that deletes characters as you go to the position to fix the mis-spelling.

Use the optical trackpad to move the cursor or tap your finger at the position you want to place the cursor.
