Compress images when emailing

Is there a way to compress images when emailing?

The only things that will work to reduce the size of your images before emailing them:
- reduce the resolution of your images
- use a lossy compression format (e.g. jpeg) and reduce the quality setting (e.g. 60% instead of 90%)

Yes, but can this be done within Jellybean 2 and if so how or is it necessary to use an additional app and if so can you suggest one?

Just found Image Shrink Lite which reduces images with one click and works from Gallery to attach to an email.
