God I hate recommending toolkits and 1-clicks...but have you tried Wug's toolkit? AFAIK it should handle your drivers and everything for you. Just want to get your ish going here.
No you can't expect good things if you go to verizon with it in its current condition. Whatever you did is fixable, and given you did the factory reset and are still having the problem it really has to be a computer/driver issue..

I initially set up drivers through Wug's toolkit when I planned to use it to revert to stock. I just tried to use it again to configure the drivers... sadly, still no dice. The nexus and my laptop are just not talking to one another.
I'm going to call it a night and hopefully a stroke of genius will hit me in my sleep. Or, more like it, someone with the answer will see this post and save me.
