I wouldn't just so quick to bail on the Galaxy Nexus for the Razr just because the fascinate was so flawed. Keep in mind that Samsung's original Galaxy S series was their first real attempt at a major smart phone release. And yes...They failed it pretty miserably (except the OLED screen which was a nice breakthrough).

However, their follow-up was the Galaxy S II...Which is still the best phone out despite it being old.

Take the Xoom for example, outside the USA its a fully functional stable device operating on Motorola updated Honeycomb,

Inside the USA is a different story, we get all our terribly buggy updates from Google. Here is an example from an update yesterday (v. 3.2.1)

This is the 2nd time I had to type this because of constant force closes on my 3g model I had to switch to me 4g.

Not my point though. The device isn't fully functional because Google won't release an update that allows full read write capability for the SD card. Outside the USA Motorola has taken care of this (not pure Android) and they have a fully functional device, minus Google's blocking of a lot of the app store to them.

As far as this device goes I love it, quite buggy at times (Nexus of tablets) but the UI is great. Simply rooting can get you passed Google's software road blocks and remove their bloat (couple games and such but don't think the GN won't have a couple app you can't delete without root).

I'll be first in line for the GN but its going to be my personal phone. After other Nexus, pure Honeycomb etc etc a dev phone isn't the best for business per se.

I've got to call that ridiculous. They're all in the business of making money, but I don't know why you'd want to pick on the Bionic. Mine is absolutely flawless and amazingly fast. I know that you can find plenty of negative threads in its forum, but you find the same negative junk in all the phone forums. I'm sure the same complaining will go on here as well. For every hundred users that are having a great experience with their phone, there will always be a few that are hammered with problems. I'd guess that most of these troubles are related to apps they've downloaded, like chinese apps that let you download free music and soft porn screen savors. It wouldn't surprise me if most of these apps are written with the intent to screw up your phone. Motorola has always build the most stable phones I've owned, though I can't wait to get my Nexus!

I thought as much. I have a friend with a bionic and he loves it, tried to sell me on it while I was waiting for the GN. I think the only Motorola device that isn't complete is their Xoom when it was first released and that's cause it was a pure android device (dev tablet if you will). Frustrating at times but its worth the rewards, aside from my business line I'll be buying exclusively pure android devices.

I really liked the Bionic but, my signal was very bad at my home. I never had a decent signal in my house anyway but, the Bionic would drop off to no signal at all and, stay that way until I rebooted it.

It worked awesome everywhere else and, when I did have a signal, the call quality was better than my Iphone. The bluetooth was also vastly superior.

So are you saying that Motorola's have bad signal? Ive been following these threads and noone has mentioned anything about Motorolas having bad signal until now.. I guess its kinda like how all of a sudden noone cares about Gorilla Glass the instant its confirmed not on the Galaxy Nexus.


I use my phone for apps, web, msgs, calls etc.. My point I was/am trying to make is that the most important factors should be how it works as a phone.. its durability, its signal strength, battery life, etc.


wow... totally didnt even read your last sentence.. did you seriously say excusing motorola is ridiculous?? this has been about a solid week of people making excuses and convincing themselves that every shortcoming of the nexus is a feature since the reveal.. its been funny to watch and almost kinda sad.

You either have avoided the Bionic forum completely or are just flat out dishonest. Everyone with any familiarity of that device knows it has serious issues with switching between 3G and 4G signals that causes it to drop out completely. It's a major problem that Moto is apparently working at. Yes, I'm aware Moto has a good reputation for radios. But to say the Bionic hasn't had major problems with signal drop and battery life is just wrong.

And while you may be most concerned about how these devices function as phones, that doesn't mean everyone else is. I would venture to guess that many people on these forums use them primarily for internet connectivity/media consumption/etc and as a phone secondary. So place whatever emphasis you feel important, that's your prerogative that no one has any say on, but there's no reason to come in here and start trying to light a fire just because you want to watch one burn.

I was pretty clear that I was giving my opinion as someone who was viewing my next device as a phone being top priority.. I dont disagree that alot of people are using these devices secondarily as a phone.. that was pretty much my point I was making.

And no.. I missed the droid bionic forums sorry.. I guess it would of probably scared me a little.. Im not in a 4G area though.. and hopefully they have this worked out now?

On a side note.. I did just realize I will beable to throw in my 16gb SD card right into my Razr and keep all my videos and photos.
