Confirmed differences between Skyrocket and non-LTE GS2?

1) LTE.

2) 4.5 inch screen (vs. 4.3 inch on regular GS2)

3) 1.5 GHz (vs. 1.2 GHz on regular GS2). AFAIK, it has not been confirmed whether the LTE version will be running Exynos, Qualcomm, or something else.

Questions:

Anybody know if the LTE radio is on the same SoC as the HSPA+ radio? Or is it a separate chip, resulting in a thicker and heavier phone that consumes battery very quickly (like Verizon LTE device)?

I would be curious to see the dimensions and weight of this thing compared to the regular GS2.

Previously AT&T said all their LTE devices would use just one chip, but we'll see. I'm glad I waited now, even if I'm not in an LTE market yet.

Makes sense though, why would T-mobile not ask for the better processor if it was available and they thought it could handle their LTE services. Unless it was a time crunch sort of thing.

Here is a newbie so excuse my novice question I have the LTE device but i am not using LTE network option yet. The device shows 4G all the time but to preserve the battery is there a way i can set the device to use 3G instead - as that might extend some battery life ? Is there an option on the device where we can select what kind of network features we would want the item to choose and run on ? all leads are much appreciated.

It's on HSPA+ when it's on non-LTE 4G, which is the same as 3G with battery life since it runs off the same network.

Battery life is great. Drrrre... Big red phones have that issue becuase there are ALWAYS two radios on. Once for voice and one for data.

What makes you think that? Every review I have seen clearly states 1 GB of RAM.

And the front facing camera has a 3 MP shooter? (according to the link) Nope, it is 2 MP. The SR had 1 GB of RAM.

Well, I have never seen that before. That makes it even more weird that it seemed slower than the OG SGS2. I went to the AT&T store and played with each one for upwards of 30 minutes and the Skyrocket had a noticeable lag compared to the SGS2. Plus it didn't feel as comfortable in my hand.

To anyone trying to make this decision...just go to a store and play with them both and there is a good chance you will know which one you want by the time you leave.

Unless it's a crappy unit (entirely possible with the in-store units that get handled a lot), I'm not sure how someone could say that the SR has "lag". Where exactly is it lagging? My wife's SR got delivered yesterday and I set it up for her last night. They had them right next to eachother and so I had one in one hand and one in the other and I was doing the same things on both (flipping through screens, opening the app drawer, opening apps) and they were both very fluid, but the OG SGS2 was just noticeably smoother. If I had just played with the Skyrocket I would not have seen any lag, in fact I played with it first and thought how smooth it was...then I played with the original and on the units I was playing with the OG SGS2 was just better.

It wasn't a big difference though, small enough that I would have chosen the Skyrocket over the OG SGS2 if it felt as comfortable in my hand as the original, but it doesn't.
