Confirming on watch that remote Gear Manager connection is enabled?

Hey I'm using the VZW Gear S and I can only tell if remote connectivity is enabled when I am able to control call forwarding. I was hoping that there would be another spot I would be able to check rather than perform a function to confirm that I'm able to text using my phone number rather than my watch number.

Swipe down from top of the screen to bring out the status screen. Here you will see your connection status: Connected via BT, Connected Remotely or Gear Only.

Not quite sure if I see it. Here is a screen cap of the status bar on the gear and one of the phone showing remote connectivity is established. I see no change on the watch indicating this connection is active.

Looks like you are running an older firmware. I had similar screen when I first get my AT&T version. But a firmware update changed the screen to this (IIRC, with the old firmware, you get to see an icon briefly when the connection status changed. Remote connection will be an icon of cloud with rain drops.):

Yeah that looks pretty obvious and no cloud icon or anything indicating handoff from stand alone to remote connection. Gotta love Verizon. They Charge the MOST out of any carrier and they are behind in firmware/software updates. $400 of love.

When you connect your watch to Gear Manager the first time, it will check for update automatically and prompt you if there is updates (it is the case with AT&T version as the update is there on release day). You can also manually check for updates in Gear Manager.

Mind you, each carrier has its own different flavor of firmware and release schedules. Just because AT&T has the updated firmware, doesn't mean Verizon will have one. It won't surprise me at all that Verizon falls behind.

Confirmed there are no updates for the VZW gear S according to Samsung:

I'm afraid that is not really correct location to see. The firmware currently are available OTA only Gear Manager. Hence Samsung support site won't have any link to it (there is none for my AT&T version). So, you will have to open Gear Manager, tap on the connected watch and choose check for update.
