confused about data and charging cable.

Is the data transfer cable the same as charging cable?

Is it a cable with Micro Usb on one end and Standard Usb on other end?

I saw an ad for a micro usb to standard usb cable but it
said "for data transfer only". that confused me.

It's all about the pins inside the connector. If it says data transfer only, then that's all it will do because it is missing the charging pin in the connector.

The stock cables and most 3rd party cables do both.

The ones I saw were real cheap. like $1.20 and $1.60.
Soooo, if I look further I should be able to find one that does both but
might cost a little more. Right?

And some 3rd party cables are for charging only, no data connection. As always, read the small print.
