Confused: LTE & HD Voice arent ready yet, why the rush!

I think the answer to this question is simple.

1. Those who want to be on the next latest and greatest.. Bingo! Winner.

2. Besides the mentioned LTE & HD Voice the rest of the device is very impressive to say the least.

As far as the whole LTE limited markets ATM, I think once Sprint does get out of some of the bigger more extensive markets like Illinois-Chicagoland area they will begin to make ground quicker in the smaller/less tower populated areas.

LTE and HD Voice mean nothing to me. I want the faster processor, better Camera, better sound, better screen and more memory.

Couldnt care less about lte, never had it, probably never will. I've got wifi access everywhere I go in my daily routine, it uses less battery than lte anyway.

Why the rush? My og evo is going out, I want a new phone. I originally thought I was going for the Nexus but I just love this new evo, especially all the camera goodness.

I barely have decent 3g where I am at, and I'm not a real big talker on the cell phone. LTE and HD Voice mean nothing to me. My OG EVO is still better than quite a few phones currently out today, but I need a new toy.

I'm far from confused.

Should've been sent from my HTC EVO 4G LTE using Android Central Forums.

I'm in Atlanta and use WiFi at home and everywhere I go. I've connected to WiMax a few times for my own amazement. But to actually use 4G you could count on the toes of a fish. LTE will be fun to look at but I don't anticipate much use here.

I'm looking forward to a better higher resolution screen, better camera, ICS, faster processing, and yes, even that kickstand!

I'm not confused either.

WiMax sucks in my area...so no loss there waiting for LTE. WiFi is readily available these days.

HD voice not a selling point for me in the first place.

In addition to the beefier specs and larger screen, the seller for me...CAMERA, CAMERA, CAMERA! As a father of two young children, the amazing and FAST camera is the biggest draw for me.

Let's go ITC! You don't need to check EVERY phone, right?

I really don't care about those things. I have a dying pre, which I love, but its on its way out. I need a new phone. I'm in San Antonio and was pleased when I heard that was one of the first markets to be getting LTE, but that wasn't a deciding factor for me. I am ok with not having the fastest phone (my husbands iphone sucks on speed!) or the HD voice, I just thought this looked cool and it was the best one for the price.
I'm just anticipating seeing all the new things this will bring. plus the camera! I have a 14 month old, and that camera will come in handy when I'm out!

I'm not in it for the LTE or HD Voice.

LTE, I assume, should be nice when it becomes available in my area, but I don't now when that will be. I'm sort of hoping that its availability will be somewhat similar to WiMAX in my area--when I first got my OG Evo almost two years ago, WiMAX was already available in my area, even though it hadn't been announced as "turned on" officially. Even with WiMAX widely available where I am, I rarely use it when I'm out, because it drains my battery too fast, plus WiMAX doesn't seem to penetrate walls very well. So for me, LTE will be a "nice perk," but not something I'm counting on.

HD Voice... even less so. So far, only calls with other Evo 4G LTE phone will have HD Voice, and I don't know of any friends who I call often that are upgrading to the same phone, so it's a none starter for me.

I'm in it for the better screen, more internal storage (for which to install apps), ICS, and presumably better battery life. Also that it's on Sprint and not a Samsung.

I don't think many people realize that HD Voice isn't as much a network feature as it is a device feature. According to the link below, HD Voice will even work on 2G networks once they've been upgraded to 1xRTT-Advanced. As long as both phones have the feature built-in, it should work. In fact, according to this article, HD Voice requires a codec that almost every voice network already uses. So at this point both parties will have to have an EVO 4G LTE but eventually as more phones are rolled out with it, it will simply just be a standard thing much like EV-DO data is now.

AnandTech - Sprint HD Voice on HTC EVO 4G LTE uses EVRC-NW over 1x-Advanced

Actually in a correction to my previous statement per this article, Sprint will need to upgrade their base stations, but this is already well underway as it is a part of their Network Vision project.

I understand the point of everyone saying that LTE isn't really an issue because I have Wifi here, and Wifi there etc. I too thought 4g wasn't necessary until I switched to Verizon and actually experienced 4g. It's like having Wifi everywhere(literally), and because I work outside, it is a necessity for me. I was fine on Sprints 3G until the iPhone was released. Now the network is so bogged down I can't even play a 2 minute YouTube video(no exaggeration). So for those that the network is working for, I'm happy for you. For those that can tolerate Sprint being consistently years behind in technology lately, I'm not disputing your reasons, I just wanted to know what they were. My family and I go on road trips every weekend and on my daughters iPhone & wifes 3dvo the speeds and reception are terrible lately. Again this is only recent, because I have been with Sprint since before my Treo 600. I too love the latest and greatest, and was tempted to use my wife's upgrade to play with the Evo LTE, which is why I asked you guys what your reasons for getting it were.

As was already stated, larger screen,HD video&camera,Beats audio makes music sound wonderfull, multi tasking like never before is awesome, gmail update ICS and many more things I have yet to discover and will fill you in when I do.:D

I don't care about LTE or HD voice at all. This phone is such a huge upgrade over my Samsung Epic 4G in every possible way and I couldn't be happier with it.

Will LTE be nice to have in the future? Of course. Do I miss it right now? Nope
