You have to look at the specs and functions.

Most new ones have 1ghz dual core, 512mb ram, 4gb memory or better.

My old laptop had an Intel 166MMX processor with 16 whole megs of ram! Lol

Having tried quite a few smartwatches myself, the super cheap ones are usually just toys that are only "smart" in name only. Those cheapy ones won't connect properly, will not deliver notifications reliably and have no support whatsoever. It really ends up being a "get what you paid for" scenario.

If you want a good, cheap entry-level Smartwatch, I would recommend the original Pebble watch.

Android Wear is a type of smartwatch operating system. So, that is like saying there is a difference between smartphones and Android.
