Confusion with getting froyo!

I've rooted and upgraded my original droid before and that was simple. I've also rooted my fascinate and after looking through the forums I believe I am more confused than when I started to look into upgrading to froyo. While I consider myself somewhat tech savvy I feel like a small child reading a foreign language. Is there a simple way to get 2.2 or do I just need to start a lot of researching?

Also, my apologies if this is already somewhere else. I looked around for a bit and couldn't get anything to satisfy me.

It can be confusing. I don't consider myself tech savy, but if you follow these steps and go straight to the Super Clean 2.4 when asked to choose your Froyo you'll be set. It was super easy for me.

I checked that thread out earlier but I supposed I just glanced at it. I am now in the process of doing it. Hopefully all goes well. So far nothing has haha. Thanks for your help.

If you can read and click a mouse(PC required), then you can install froyo. It looks a little tedious but you'll be amazed at how easy it actually is. The hardest part is taking out the battery and holding Volume Down while plugging in the usb cord to get into Download mode. Just make sure you have the correct drivers posted in the thread as Odin not seeing the phone is probably one of the most prominent, yet avoidable, issues

Oh I understand completely....overr 50k views and 1k replies can throw a guy off quickly. Luckily I got there before it blew up into the 100+ page monster that it is today! Seriously, though it is a great thread. Just about all the issues that have happened are in there so take the time to scroll through when you can.

you dont even need to plug it in while holding the down button, just pull the battery plug it in , and just press vol down for a couple seconds

It's a good thing mike contributed, but he left out the step about prepping the mortar and rebar. After mike's done with you, you'll need something to use all those bricks for :-D
