Connect to the computer

I am trying to connect a samsung captivate to the computer. ( i have an EVO myself, just trying to help out a friend who is having this issue) Do you need any software in order to connect to the computer to sync music, photos, and videos with the computer?

nope just plug it in and select mass storage mode. now with that said, ever since the update, i've had to pull the drop down bar and click on the usb notification in order to mount the drives. i hadnt had to do that before.

What about if you are on a Mac?

If you are on a Mac, you have to turn on USB Debugging.

Go into Settings
Click Applications
Click Development
choose USB Debugging

That will allow you to connect to the Mac. Be aware though, especially with Mac laptops, not all of the USB ports may work. On my older Macbook pro, you have to use the USB ports on the right-hand side. The ones on the left won't work (don't have enough power from what I read).
