I just received my free promo 3G watch, but have had an S2 BT in use for awhile. The manual says I can use Gear Manager to connect to another watch, but it doesn't say if the old data/matchup is kept so I can change between the two? Reason being, I've got the BT version set the way I want it and it works fine, but I want to try the 3G version to see if there's anything there I want to use. I really don't want to wipe all the setup from the BT version by pairing GM with the new watch.

Can you not do a backup, then restore to the new one?

Really the only things added to the 3g version is the ability to make/receive calls (even when not connected to your phone), and the addition of the speaker, to use the watch as a sort of bluetooth handset.

Personally I wound up turning off the sounds, and rarely ever use the 3g function.

Thanks for the reply. Not sure about the backup/restore as the manual says very little other than it backs up "settings". Don't know if that includes faces and apps downloaded, etc. It would be perfect if I could do as you suggest though.

Yeah, I think you're right about the 3G version. I didn't know if the speaker would be of any use, but I don't use the phone for music and don't do that much calling so the standalone mode is not something I need.

Well, answered this myself. Phone appears to keep both phone backups and there is a BT profile for each.
