Hi there,
I tried to find a thread concerning this issue, but didn't find anything. If there's one, I'd be happy 'bout a link.
My problem: when I try to connect my Nexus 4 to my PC (Windows 10 64, Asus H97M Mainboard), my
- device isn't recognized, but charging or
- my PC instantly shuts down, tries to reboot and is stuck in a reboot loop, until I remove my Nexus 4 again.
The last thing is the regular issue now, before that it was just the "can't recognize device" thingy. It has nothing to do with my PC imho, since
- I can connect all other devices via USB ('cause I expected it to maybe a power issue or backfiring USB issue) like tablets, printers, my old Nexus 1, even another Nexus 4, which is connected and recognized properly.
- I can reproce that with my Nexus 4 at 2 other PCs, except the crashes (Didn't try that yet, quitted after the "can't recognize" thingy).
Everything worked fine like till 2 days ago, then the trouble started. The only big change I made so far in the last two days: I moved the whole content of the DCIM directory (no, I didn't delete it, old fashioned ut & paste via Windows Explorer of the marked pictures and thumbs).
And yes, I download 2 different Antivirs too and scanned my phone. I didn't install any fastboot drivers yet, since I don't expect it to be solved this way. Yes, I checked the device manager and deinstalled the faulty USB driver like dozen times, everytime I got the same issue with "can't recognize connected usb device properly". Resetting the phone to factory settings is honestly the last thing I want to do, since it still leaves me without a clue, what's the actual problem.
If anyboy maybe knows, what it could be or how to find out, I'd be happy to hear!
