connecting note 20 to tv?

I bought a cable to connect from usb-c plug to hdmi on tv. I got it hooked up but, so far there's nothing showing on the tv screen anyone know what I may be doing wrong or, maybe a link that shows the procedure? Thanks!

Is it a powered/compatible USB-C to HDMI cable? If it is, you should see a prompt on the phone asking you to either mirror the screen or use DeX mode on the TV. There really isn't much more to it if it works... just connect, power the adapter, pick display mode, done!

No power of any kind on the cable just the proper plugs on each end I guess I bought the wrong cable? Thanks! :-\

You need to swipe down and activate DEX and just follow the screen. If you already have USB-C to TV (HDMI or DP).
