Connecting to hotmail

I recently purchased an android device and connected to Gmail, Hotmail, and my outlook exchange server. Everything worked fine for about 2 weeks. Now my Hotmail disappeared from the dropdown list and can no longer look at my e-mail. I can't delete the account because it is not there, I cannot re-add the account because my device says it is already there. If I check my tasks and calendar, I can select Hotmail, so I am definitely connected to hotmail. What happened and how can I correct this problem.

The reason it stopped working was that Hotmail is being changed to Outlook.com. The solution to the problem is described the Hotmail forum. I could not get it to work, so I was able to delete the account and recreate it.
