When Star Wars episode 1 was a little more than a year from release there was this guy at work and almost everyday he was preaching about how great this movie was gonna be. he would go on and on and on about how he was gonna camp out for 3-4 days just to make sure he was one of the first to get his ticket. He was going to a theater in Nelsonville, Ohio to watch it it's a very small town with a tech collage and little else other than Rocky Boots. There was no need to camp out to get tickets.

He would corner anyone willing to listen and discuss the latest rumors and leaks that he was able to find. After he saw the movie he felt that George Lucas had betrayed the Star Wars legacy, and he actually went into a spell of depression. He had worked himself up so mush for how great this film was going to be and there was no way it could live up to his expectations.

I wonder how many people here are "pulling a Gary" as we came to call it, hyping this phone with every scrap of rumor that comes out. Getting all worked up at the latest delay and how evil Verizon is for not releasing it already?

There's a huge difference between high-technology with a rich story and high-technology with zero story value.

I'll let everyone draw the correlation between the two...

The difference is that we have all seen the Nexus online and have read and watched reviews. We know exactly what to expect out of it. I have actually seen far more negative comments on the phone about how bad the screen will be or how terrible the camera is, with no evidence to back it up. I would say this phone is barely being hyped at all, unlike the Bionic and Razr which were both mostly hype.

It depends on the individual. I'm a huge Star Wars fan and, couldn't wait for Episode one. When I saw LucasFilm logo in the intro to the first commercial about it, I got very excited. As a Star Wars fan, I loved Episode one and, always felt people who were truly die-hard fans would love it also but, that wasn't the case. IMO people are too cynical and nitpick everything a lot now-a-days instead of just trying to enjoy the experience.

After watching the presentation and, as many as I can find hands-on videos; I have no doubt I will like this phone very much. Having said that, I know some people will be disappointed about something, it always is.
