Connection Problem Galaxy S3

[AC Question]

I plugged my Galaxy S3 into my PC and got a message "one of the USB devices has malfunctioned..." I also cannot get Kies3 (upgraded to the latest version) to "see" the phone. I also get a popup wanting me to download "Smart Search".

Will "Smart Search" software replace the Kies3, and will it be compatible with my S3?

Welcome to the forums. I never heard of Smart Search. Have you tried updating the drivers for your PC?
