Android Central Question
Hello. A problem that some people mentioned, but only about their home WiFi. The Huawei Mate 9 sends you to a site called connectivitycheck.platform.hicloud.com, and from there to another called connectivitycheck.gstatic.com, every time you want to connect to some public wifi network and need to enter a password or such. It used to work fine, but some time (quite a while) ago, I'd say between 1 or 2 years, it stopped working altogether, meaning that wherever the place, whatever the network, the page will NEVER load, so I am ALWAYS unable to connect, and have to rely on 4G, which can be painful when travelling (on trains for instance) where you can't get a stable phone connection. Does anyone know what the issue is and how to solve it? I think I saw somewhere that some company like Alibaba had acquired the website's name and it had thus become unusable for Huawei users, but that seemed beyond weird to me. Thanks in advance for any help. I may add that I live in France, but I guess this isn't a country-specific problem.
