Cons of battery pack cases?

I have a Mophie on my Note 5, I have to pop it out to use any of my mobile pays. I believe if you get the battery back pack from Samsung, you won't run into that issue, or bulk.

Well the Samsung battery case includes wireless charging

Bulk for me. I would rather plug into an external pack so once it is charged I can go back to my sleek device :).

Yeah but then you're carrying around 2 devices, a cord, and putting stress on your charging port.

You're carrying two devices with the backpack. I carry my external pack in my backpack. When I need it, I plug it in and leave it be for a bit. Fast charging charges it up quick. And that whole thing about stress on the port isn't as big of a problem as people think. These are designed to be USED. They're not brittle and going to break with normal usage.

Sami gives u 2 kind of CPUs that benifit no one. Instead of giving us 2 battery versions: 1 regular and the other double. I careless for slimliness!

Stress on my charging port? Sorry I just have to disagree.. I mean I NEVER worried about a charging port on any device I have had lol.

Carrying around a pack and a cord isn't bad. No different than carrying a spare battery. I can wrap the cord around the pack and done ;).

I have had many devices too and never had a bad charging port

I would say this. If you don't use it as your "main" case, there are NO cons to battery back cases. Get one in addition to your regular case, and in addition to normal battery packs if you can afford one.

There are no negatives for me, just extra insurance for those times when I need to slap it on.

The S7 Edge official battery case disables samsung pay and wireless charging. Hopefully the Note 7 version fixes that.

My bigger issue is that it is a 3100 mah battery, with the size and weight of a 3100 mah battery, but it only has an effective charging capacity of a little over 1500 mah. Thats a lot of weight and bulk to carry for that small of a "battery power".

A recent review of the 3100 mah s7 edge backpack, shows that only about half of the battery capacity is transferred to the phone. The rest is assumed to be lost in the wireless charging process. The note 7 backpack is listed on the samsung page as able to provide approx 50% recharge to the note 7 battery. That is unacceptable to me for the size and weight. So I am going to carry around a small battery pack (10,000 mah) with quick charge. I did this recently at Disney. Spending 14 hours in the park, playing with the phone standing in line, and using the disney app to keep track of reservations, etc, was murder on the battery. The little quick charge battery pack worked awesome . Sat at lunch and plugged it in to charge off the pack, and within an hour was basically fully charged, and ready to go again.

The rapid charging feature, is quietly one of the biggest game changers in terms over overall smartphone technology in the last few years. I would sacrifice nearly every other feature on a device, but not rapid/quick charge.

In response to the above comment about USB ports being designed to be used and not breaking, I've had two that have. So I'm not convinced. A Moto X 2014, and m Galaxy S3

Bulk and looks ugly for me... Though the Samsung battery pack with wireless charging looks good without adding that much bulk and looks slim. I may pick it up when later in the month.
