I currently have an "ancient" S22 Ultra....Love the phone, love the S pen, but I really like the looks and portability of the Flip. Even though there are several generations of the Fold and Flip, I'm still very hesitant about a folding screen. How well do they hold up now? I have a good buddy who has had damn near ever version of the Fold, he loves it...he's an Engineer so he is always on his phone and says the Fold makes it so much easier, but he never keeps them long enough to see any long term problems. I on the other hand will keep a phone for years.

I use my phone for what it is...google searches, emails, texts, snaps with the wife, reddit and youtube. I don't game on it, i do take lots of pics of my kiddo. I think the flip would fulfill my daily needs. But again, I think of that crease in the screen.

I would definitely give it a try if I was you, I think it sounds like you want a little bit of a change and I think the flip phone being convenient to carry along with being able to handle plenty of tasks would be solid. I have a friend who bought one over a year ago and I thought he was the last person that would enjoy the phone and that it would last that long lol they are plenty durable IMO and the crease is a non factor. The other positive thing is if you give it a try and you don't like it you always have good trade in value for the next one

I had the Flip 3 for three years then traded it in for a 6 after the hinge sensor started to malfunction. I use my phone in a very similar manner as OP and love it. I think the only real difference may be the camera and picture quality compared to some of the candy bar Galaxy phones.

Installing Goodlock on the Flip eliminates many times you need to open the phone, thereby saving on wear and tear of the hinge.

True! I have my 20 most used apps on my cover screen and I use them frequently.

What have you found to be most useful on the front? Any chance one of them is the MyQ app to open a garage door?
I have several music apps that I use , Messages (for short quick replies), a reminder app that I use, a weather radar app, calculator app, package tracking apps, and several others. I have 20 in all, but you can add as many as you want, including your garage door app (I don't have a garage door!), through the Good Lock-MultiStar module. They are, of course, smaller when you launch them, but you get used to that pretty quickly and they become easier to use.

Of course, I do not use those apps all the time from the cover screen, I open the phone. But for a quick one shot use, the cover screen works just fine.

Thanks! For those of us not familiar with using this app, do you have a preferred reference for how to get started and put other apps on the external screen?

It's not hard. There are several good YouTube videos showing how to do it. Search YouTube for Z Flip 6 How to Use Any App on the Cover Screen.
