Considering a Moto Z Force. Have some questions.

All Verizon phones (these days) are carrier unlocked, so there's nothing to prevent taking it to another carrier. I would double check the antennas to be sure the device supports the carrier's signals though.

Thanks I will look into this.

I have had several generations of Android cell devices over the years. The most recent was a Motorola MAXX Ultra for a couple years. I then decided to research a new phone choosing the Moto Z Force. Having this cell phone for a couple weeks now, I love this phone. I love the speed and the tweak's you can perform to make it faster between screens. The JBL Speaker mod has incredible sound to it and attaches very easily. Image on the screen is sharp and crystal clear with some auto adjustments for proper back lighting. I love the ability to fully charge the unit in under 1/2 hour (Only if it is below 70%. There is only one thing I don't like about this phone and that is.... the glass. So what if it doesn't shatter? This screen will nick and scratch sitting by itself in the corner. I think Suran wrap has a harder surface. I had my Droid Maxx for two years, used it in construction job sites almost every day and never using a screen protector, that screen still looks brand new. In two weeks I have a series of scratches and a small nick in it already. I just now installed a glass screen protector. I would rather have my old glass that could shatter than this crap. I also dropped my old phone on more than one occasion on it side, front, edge with no effects to the phone at all. This while using a slim $5.00 gel skin/glove. If you don't want your cell to shatter, use a 4 level case which I purchased on Ebay. for 1/3 the price of Verizon. I hope they revise the glass on this phone, other than that, it is a great buy.

After researching how the DROID TURBO 2 stood up (Shatter Shield Generation 1), I didn't start using my Moto Z Force Droid until I put a glass screen protector on it.

Smart move. Same for me. If you get a good tempered glass, it feels the same as any other phone.

I actually had Verizon install their Flexible Glass protector on mine when I activated the phone. By leaving the OEM protective film on until doing so, the installation is perfect and virtually undetectable.

I would consider myself an average user, and I don't know how you guys are getting decent battery life out of this unit. I have the battery Mod, and if it and the phone are both charged at 7am, buy lunch they're both dead.

Between that and my other post in the Bluetooth connectivity issues, I, personally can't recommend it. Going to return it and reactivate my Windows Phone.

You're talking about the Force and not the regular Z? Obviously everyone's usage is different so comparisons aren't totally useful but I average 6 hours screen on time, over 24 hours with the unit on. Some do much better than that if you have a strong signal; others do somewhat worse.

What's the screen on time? What apps are running? Even if we're talking the regular Z with its smaller battery, either you're using it near constantly during that time, or an app is running constantly in the background, or something's wrong with the phone and/or battery mod. That's not normal at all. If you're willing to post more details, folks on this forum can help you figure out which.

The number one cause for this lately seems to be the Facebook apps. If you have them installed, can you try uninstalling them for a day? If this doesn't help, you should be able to tell what is draining the battery in Battery Settings. 5 hours battery life including the mod screams that an app is constantly pegging your processor.

Agreed. Got my Force about a month ago after upgrading from the original Turbo. Battery life was a good bit better than what I was getting with the Turbo, with the same apps installed. Then suddenly started getting much worse battery life. GSam showed Messenger and Facebook as the two biggest battery users. Uninstalled/reinstalled both and now things are back to normal.

I can still go into day 2 with Facebook installed.

Not everyone has battery drain or slowdowns with the Facebook apps, but if you have these issues it's worth uninstalling at least temporarily. The Facebook mobile web site actually works pretty well nowadays.

There were posts a week or so ago that there were issues with Facebook and Messenger regarding battery problems. I also use the mobile website and get along quite well. I don't use Messenger.
