Let me add my experience here. I just dumped my Note 7 and got the G5. I should add that I got the G5 solely because it was available. Now, I liked some of the features of the Note 7 but hated so many more. For starters, I hated the edge screen; absolutely hated. It being a business oriented device, the curved edges took up a lot of the screen viewable area and made the screen look smaller. Having the flat screen on the Note 5 was so much better. I genuinely wish I kept my Note 5 vs trading for the 7. The retinal unlock this was cool as well but mostly a novelty since it was very picky about position when trying to unlock using your eyes. The note 7 was also laggy and was actually slower in tasks than my note 5. The battery on the Note 5 lasted so much longer as well. All in all, I personally don't think the Note 7 is worth its $850 price tag. Plus, I was disappointed by it since it lost its businessie appeal. Another thing that I find undesirable is apparently the Note 7 doesn't support Bluetooth texting. You may ask what this is but in our cars that have Ford Sync with MyTouch, they use a features called Bluetooth texting which allows the cars radio to read off the text message via the car speakers and clear the new text notification. This feature worked on the Note 5 and previous galaxy phone; not on the note 7. Huge bummer.
My overall rating and view point of the Note 7 is that it is a great concept while being a lackluster execution. I do know for sure that if the edge screen becomes a standard feature on galaxy phones,,, I will never buy another.
