Considering factory reset of my Incredible, will I lose my OTA Froyo update?

Alright, so here's my issue. I have a Droid Incredible and I'm just having a whole bunch of issues with it and I'm considering a factory reset. The majority of my apps have all of a sudden started force closing whenever I open them and some apps have just completely disappeared all together. This all happened after I turned off my phone and turned it back on again once the battery had died. My concern is this: my phone received the OTA updated for FroYo a few months back meaning that it originally came with the prior version of Android. If I were to do a factory reset, will I lose the FroYo update? Any help will be greatly appreciated!
This phone has been very much frustrating me lately and I'm somewhat upset that I'm locked into my contract for another year still. I really would like a new phone.

Doing a factory reset does not affect what version of operating system you have, it only removes all personal information and downloaded apps, giving you a blank slate to start from. It definitely sounds like something is corrupted on your phone.

I have the same phone and it has been awesome. Like mentioned prior could be something corrupting your phone. Very well could be an app you downloaded. I recommended a reset and then just download a few of your apps that you can't live without and see what happens.

You can also try formatting your sd card (save data prior). Good luck! My incredible has also been problem free.

I had the same problems with apps forcing closed after updating to Froyo and then the newest OTA in Nov. I uninstalled the apps that were forcing closed and reinstalled them and the issues went away. Once you fix the forced closed issues your battery life should be better as well.
