Considering upgrading from Galaxy S2LTE

Hello

Two questions for the group.

1 - do the red and white nexuses (nexae?) have the same rubbery backing as the black?

2 - will a backup of my S2 in Samsung Kies be of any use when I switch? If not, are there preferred methods to bring over as many settings etc as possible?

1. The red nexus 5 is the soft plastic like the black one. The white isn't
