Constant abnormal resets?

I have't been having this issue, maybe becuase I use GO Launcher EX. For the people having this issue, are you all using Sense?

My friend referred me to us GO Launcher as well and the problem still persists. I did a Hard Reset last night and it did not solve anything. My next step might be to Root my phone, but if this is a hardware problem would there be a point?

I thought I would wrap this thread up with a final update:

After 5 visits to the Sprint Store, they finally relented and traded out my phone. I've been on this one for about 3 months and it's worked flawlessly.

It seems I have run in to this as well, not sure if it will help but sounds real similar to what you have going on. Basically random resets boot loops, I had purchased the standalone charger from sprint that came with an extra battery I threw the new battery in and all new now.try a new battery .

Had the same issue with a brand new phone from Asurion to replace my OG4G. The phone would randomly shut off and would require a battery pull to come back to life. The problem continued to get worse even after three hard resets. Even shimmed the battery to no avail. This started last Friday (when I received the phone) through Monday (when I returned the phone). Asurion replaced it with another new 3VO that arrived this morning and is charging now, so I'm hoping for the best. I can say that it was a VERY frustrating experience. Phone was stock, by the way (no time to learn how to root and manage kernels and roms and whatnot).

I have had the exact same or similar problems with three different HTC EVO 3D phones. It has been an absolute nightmare.

I had to hassle with Radio Shack Wireless to send me 4 different replacement phones, two of which could not be activated because they were registered to another account or were reported lost or stolen. All three phones that I was able to activate have given me different permutations of basically the same problem. The first one I had would reset itself over and over. The second one and the one I have now will reset itself and then be unable to turn back on unless you take out the battery.

There are other issues I've noticed that the 4G would not work after an abnormal restart and when I tried to turn it off and on again the screen wouldn't work. It has also frozen up and the screen becomes unresponsive randomly at other times too too. The SD card also crapped out on this latest phone luckily sprint was nice enough to give me a courtesy replacement, of course they didn't know what to do about the abnormal reset BS they tried to tell me it was because of the SD card...yeah right, two hours later the phone has reset twice, 4G wouldn't work randomly and the phone froze and wouldn't even turn off without taking out the battery.

I would get another replacement of Radio Shack Wireless but they won't give me the same phone and I dig the 3D and everything I just want this thing to work.

Someone said the Kernel was incompatible with the ROM was that the stock stuff? How do I change the kernel and would that void my warranty?

I'm sick of dealing with customer service about this I've spent countless hours on the phone or in stores and I realized that all those people know is how to do is a reset and update basically then they try to send you on your way. Inevitably the reset and update fails to solve the abnormal reset problem. The only answer it seems is to get a replacement but I get the feeling HTC just resends out the phones that get returned to it without solving the abnormal reset issue (since it is intermittent they might think that it is fixed after a hard reset just like the repair people in the stores...). I know I'm not the only one having this issue I've seen forum posts about all over the internet. Official HTC forums about it seem to have been deleted and get this I tried to make an account there and it wouldn't even let me visit the forums!

Anyway I called sprint and told them I want a replacement and they tried to get me to pay $100 deductible on my insurance for it (which I am considering dropping after learning about the deductible which they of course failed to mention when they asked me if I wanted it). I told them that is ridiculous since this is a manufacturer defect issue, I didn't physically damage the phone.

I guess I'll have to just keep bringing it back to the sprint store until they relent and file for a repair or replacement through my warranty with HTC. Hopefully the one I eventually receive as a replacement works, I know some HTC EVO 3D phones work because my fiance seems to have one that is, relatively, free of problems (one time the camera stopped working and only worked again after pulling and replacing the battery, another time the phone got hot and shut down when on a car charger being used for navigation...other than that *cross fingers* it has been fine).

Have you contacted HTC directly for a warranty claim?

Sounds like you're doing the right thing. Sounds like you got some bad refurbs. Stay on them until you get one that works. And definitely don't pay that deductable.
