Constant random reboots since ICS

This kills me to report, but after successfully installing the OTA update about noon yesterday, and running clean through midnight, I left the tablet & dock idle overnight.
About 8 hours later, I opened it to discover it in a failing reboot loop, displaying the EeePad, ASUS, Nvidia logos. I forced a reset & reboot. The batteries had dropped about 11% of capacity.

I'm afraid that I still can't leave the tablet unattended for extended periods. My plan is to just take my tablet back to Honeycomb until ASUS can demonstrate that the problems are resolved.

So can we have a head count on the OTA update: how many still experiencing problems and how many are resolved. I noticed, 4 reported that they have updated the TF101 but vicw926a4 is one so far says it is not working. I am still holding on to my old ICS first firmware update. I have not faced any reboot loop except for once a day instantaneous shut down. It was worse before I did the Factory Reset.

I've had mine for just under a week, the guy I bought it from had already updated it to ICS. Was having the reboots, installed yesterday's update. Haven't had any random reboots yet, but did have one occurence where it wouldn't wake up and had to hold the power button.

After reading through threads here and over at transformerforums.com, I really think my reboots are related to wi-fi. Yesterday, before the update, I was in a meeting in one part of the building, using my tablet, and then when I got back to my office, found it rebooting. The thing is, it would have jumped to a different access point between point a and point b. Other reboots have happened when I turned it on at home and it connects to my home wi-fi. I've taken to turning the wi-fi off when not using for long periods, so far in the last 14 hours no reboots (that I'm aware of).

Decided to try the OTA just now at about 12.45 EST. The changes are:

Bluetooth version from V8.27 to V8.28
GPS version from V6.3.1.21 to V6.9.11
Kernel version from 2.6.39.4-00002-g2977G0d android@Neptune#1 to 2.6.39.4 android@Mercury#1
Build no from IML74K.US_epad-9.2.1.11-20120221 to IML74K.US_epad-9.2.1.17-20120312.

Lets see what happens...

I have a solution for this - so far its been on for about a week with zero problems...

Go into Settings > ASUS customized setting > Uncheck "Use ASUS Quick Setting"

Granted ICS is still kinda buggy - sometimes when I tap on the screen it goes black, but at least it doesn't restart :).

I ave not tried to disable Asus Quick settings. May be it will work but will it not cause teh tablet to work less efficeintly since it is not really optimized? Anyhow, I updated the new OTA yesterday afternoon. This morning it went dead (complete shutdown) but still have battery remaining. But tjhis very minute it was stuck at in that loop again. That happened only after leaving it for about 30 minutes. Heck ASUS, what update are you rolling out?

Disabling ASUS Quick Settings didn't resolve my reboot from Deep Sleep problem. I finally just now bit the bullet and rooted my tab, installed SetCPU & Voodoo OTARootkeeper and set minimum CPU speed to 318mhz. Time will tell, but that looked like the most plausible workaround, and I'm really tired of trying everything in creation that hasn't helped. I really like ASUS, but their credibility with me has really been dimished by the ICS fiasco.

Still getting the reboot issue here. Still have some screen flickering issues when I hit the recent apps button. Tap lags and crashes of numerous apps continue. Also performance overall still sucks for a good couple of minutes after waking the device, as it slowly spits out various notifications. What a shame.

Yeah. My wife took our new TF201 because it doesn't lock up when our nephews are playing games on it. So I the TF101 that still locks up on me. Oh well, if nothing else I will put CM9 on it.

After running steady for over 270 hours...I finally had another reboot. Other than that...no other issues.

Try the wake lock app. It's been the workaround I've been looking for. Flawless so far for about 4 days

I suppose I'm one of the lucky ones. My reboots have been to a minimum. Thanks for the heads up on Wake Lock though. Hopefully I won't need it.

It's called Wake Lock. Been mentioned in this thread but I know the thread is mad long right now. Set it for screen_dim_wake_lock

What does it do to battery life?
