Constant Reboot Loop

Hey all, I unlocked and rooted my phone. Installed ROM Manager and backed up. Then installed Google Wallet the hard way. It didn't work properly so restored my backup and installed it the apk way. Google Wallet has worked great since.

I then installed Lightflow via flash. I had also installed Flash from the market place after seeing an Android 4.0 conversion guide. Was able to load sites like SiriusXM that required flash.

A couple times my phone locked up and rebooted itself. Today it locked up when I was launching gmail and rebooted. It kept freezing up with anything like switching home screens, booting up google voice... and now it just reboots, gets past the splash screen, shows me the incorrect time and reboots before i can unlock it. Over and over again....

I did get it up long enough once to run ROM manager, reflash Clockwork Mod and did a system restore. Since I have restored I cannot get that far.

Any suggestions? thanks!

stock. So i waited a couple of hours while it was charging, booted it back up and ran for about 30 minutes. Made a phone call, then installed Broncos app, watched a video. When I hit home then gmail it froze again. Reboot loop again....

Ok, so I did a factory reinstall. Same problem. So I guess I need to relock the bootloader and take this puppy back.

I agree with upstream before returning your device try flashing a rom and see if the loops stop.

Worst case, push a restore image to it...that is almost guaranteed to fix it.

Said it before, every time someone busts their phone up and returns it, it's giving credence to Verizon's position that locked bootloaders reduce support requests.

The Galaxy Nexus is virtually brick proof because we have restore images. That's not to say that you can't truly brick it, because you can, but it's really hard. Most of time it's just a soft brick that can be easily fixed with either a new rom flash as suggested above or worst case a complete restore.

SO i was working off of the stock rom, after rooting and unlocking and just using the phone i started geting this boot loop problem. I have since flashed a 4.02 recovery image. Thought that would fix it, did not root it after that either but still having boot loop issues. I have not relocked the bootloader. I will try a custom rom to see if that helps, hopefully it does. If it does not then I have no other options I do not think. I'll relock the bootloader and flash back on the 4.02 recovery image and take it back. Phone is unusable at this point.

If a custom rom doesn't solve your issue your right take it back for a replacement.

Good luck

I have had the same issue before I ever unlocked the boot loader. The first day I had the phone it got stuck in a boot loop. I had to do a factory reset. Seemed ok after that so I unlocked the bootloader. Yesterday It started again!

@Tagged- Do you have the extended battery installed? I have been wondering if this could be related considering my phone bootlooped from day one and the only thing I did was install the extended battery.

I'm using an extended battery and haven't had any loops except when I was rooting and pulled the battery when I shouldn't have pulled it. If your still getting them after installing a custom ROM I would consider taking it back to Verizon for a replacement.
