The Aug issue of Consumer Reports has the Verizon Razr Maxx as the top scoring phone across 4 major carriers. Close behind in score were: HTC One S (T-Mobile) and One X (AT&T) closely followed by Galaxy S II (T-Mobile and AT&T). Best choice for Sprint was the HTC Evo. Which rated just below the above phones.

For Verizon phones the Razr Maxx was followed by the Razr, Bionic and the LG Spectrum. The iPhone was in tenth place under Verizon phones.

agree with RAZR Maxx on Verizon being number one.

Iphone should at least be # 2

Number 10?

Come on now

I am a middle-aged type (polite for old fart). Biggest issue I hear my peers discuss vis-a-vis the Apple product is the screen size.

Interesting to learn the IPhone 5 will match Maxx's screen size. Perhaps the gripes have validity. Our son and my wife have Iphone 4s's. My decision to go Maxx was, too, based on screen size.

I heard the iPhone 5 will be just 4 inches. Where did you hear it's as big as the Maxx.

I can't believe they put the spectrum in there and I REALLY can't believe the Rezound wasn't number 2. I tried a spectrum and it was garbage.

How could the evo lte be behind those phones when it's just a pumped up one x? It's everything the one x should have been.

If they are taking network into account then no Sprint phone should be on the list. What a joke of a network. I'm on day 2 with my Maxx(the first thing I did was accept the ota to 4.0.4)and coming from the Galaxy nexus I'm already seeing a better signal and so far little to no lag. I'm a light user when I'm home and with 24+ hours of extremely light use I'm still at 80%. I'd be on a second charge or to about 20% depending on how the phone wanted to act that day. As far as radios I was able to grab a decent 4g signal in an area that I thought was 3g only. So consumer reports def got it right and there is a reason that this is Verizon's top selling phone. I do miss the 4.65 inch 720p display and Google wallet but having better radios, amazing battery life and a solid build quality more then makes up for it.

My wife just said she wants to put her 4s on Craigslist, and trade for a Maxx. She has been an apple zombie for years....I am so proud!

The messed up thing is that you should be able to sell or trade her 4s for a maxx and still turn a profit. The iphone could have 1080p on it and I still couldn't deal with that tiny screen and lack of 4g. It's going to suck when we have all of the i-sheep on our lte network hogging all of the bandwith. I've been using 4g phones since the original Evo 4g on Sprint and while hspa+ is better then regular 3g it's still 3g although at&t i-phone users will tell you different because they think that the last update gives them a 4g because there is now a 4g status indicator icon on the phone.

I used roam control the one place I ever had a problem with sprint.
