Contact Icon Resolution

Did a search, no real luck.

My contact icons are really poor quality. Whether it is on an incoming or outgoing call or when used in the people widget, my icons are not getting the resolution they should. I have tried scaling my massive images down to a typical large email file and even leaving them at their original size. No pics have a resolution lower than the 480x800 screen size.

Anyone have any tricks or tips that an Android newbie might find useful?

instead of assigning a photo an icon.. open the people app, and select the contact then press menu then edit.. then menu again and go to "Add Photo" If you already have them on your contacts widget, you might have to remove and re add for it to show the photo rather than the icon.

Let me know if this works for you.. it did for me.

I was struggling with this yesterday too.. and it was so frustrating having that hideous 30x30 pixel icon instead of the beautiful image its capable of displaying

Ahhh...but now the dreaded google sync issues. Looks like I will have to resort to saving the contact icons on the exchange account to maintain resolution.
