For some reason whenever I assign a pic to a contact it shows up blurry when they call. I have tried using high res photos, low res thumbnails and even taking a pic with the EVO camera, all the pics are crystal clear, but once I assign them to a contact they show up blurry when that person calls! Frustrating! Strangely enough though, if I use their Facebook assigned profile pic as their contact photo it comes up in focus... Any ideas?

Same. what is up with that and why doesnt the pic fill more of the screen?

Your syncing your contacts with your gmail account i assume? Thats the problem. You set a high res photo and its fixed. But once its synced with google, the image gets replaced on gmails end with a low res thumbnail, and thats the image that gets put onto your phone. The solution is to NOT sync your contacts with gmail. Google as aware of the issue and is apparently working on it, but they have been "working" on it for many many months now. Search topics on googles support forums or whatever, people have been complaining about this for a long time

Thanks! So if I stop syncing with Gmail, all the new contact pics will stay clear, but do I have to delete and reinstall all existing contacts to have their picture in focus? Thats just crazy!

As of now, the only way to have the hi res photos show without deleting your existing contacts is to recreate those contacts (it can be just name and photo). Make sure you set contact type as phone instead of google. Now you link the two contact profiles. Once linked, 1) click on the contact 2) hit the menu key on your phone 3) click on the linked button 4) click on the contact's photo. It should give you the option of which photo to use : google, phone or gallery. Choose phone and save contact. Tedious, but you will have your hi res photos when that person calls.
