Contact Picture Question

Not sure if I'm the only one with this problem or not...I used to have a D1 and just updated to a D2. I created some short cuts on one of my pages for contacts. On the old D1, it would show their picture and when clicked, it would give you options to call, text, etc. Why aren't the pictures showing but some are?

I've noticed that also but it only happens with my fb contacts all others display pictures but I never call my fb contacts so I don't have an issue with it.

I have the same issue on my D2. Some of the shortcuts show pictures, some don't. In both cases the pictures are ones that I manually set via the Gallery as a work-around to the "unable to set your contact pictures" bug.

And on top of that, for some of my contracts they actually are displaying the contact pictures from a different contact. In all cases these are contacts that were synched from my Corporate email account.

Are some of your contacts duplicated? Meaning, for example, do you have an entry under Robert and under Robert X., but they're the same person? If so, then those contacts need to be joined together in the edit contact screen.

My problem is that I only want my gmail contacts in my phone, but I want it to sync with my facebook pictures (like I used to be able to do on my D1). Instead it's showing all my facebook contacts as well. Does anyone know how to do this?

That's not the issue that I'm having, I already merged all of the dupes (that I wouldn't have had if it hadn't been for the stupid Facebook client).

Motorola's contact software is different from what you're used to on the D1. That is one feature that is unfortunately missing. Other apps that use contact shortcuts still have the the functionality of the stock contact application in tact, for example if you use the People widget in Launcher Pro
