What's with the "x" to the very right on certain contacts above timestamp?

I think your image cropped out the red 'X's, but if I'm not mistaken, a red X usually denotes that the message for that time stamp was not sent.

No its not the failed message I see that a lot BC of network issues. Its a grey "x" I'll take another I don't know why it cropped like that.

Part of me is thinking BC sometimes there's a green dot that someone mentioned meant they are online on Facebook that maybe its Facebook related?

It would be if you have a third-party SMS app that connects to Facebook Messenger. Otherwise, I don't see how that status would show up in your Messaging app. Could be Hangouts if you integrated it with SMS as well... but yeah, it would help to see the full picture.

But why would some of them have it and some don't? Have you tried hitting one of the 'X'? Does it do anything?
