Contact Sync Question

I have had this issue with both Samsung phones I have owned. When I initially set-up the phone I log in to my Google acct, FB acct, and also my VZW Backup assistant syncs contacts as well. When this happens I get a ton of duplicate entries. I then have to sit down and join all acct contacts together. Is there an easier way to do this? Also, when joining contacts how do I get the FB photo to display for all entries in that contact (PHONE, GOOGLE and FB)?
