I have just upgraded from 2.2 to 2.3.4. I was stuck on 2.2 for a while but was able to follow step one of the prep for Gingerbread link and the phone did the rest. (Nexus One, T-Mobile) Then I used andriod sync to put the contacts back on the phone and it deleted 941 contacts from my computer (Windows 7 Ultimate 64).

I made a complete back up of the phone by copying it to my computer before I did the upgrade. Can anyone tell me how to get my contacts back on the phone?

Also what is the preferred program to use to sync contacts, calendar and music for the Andriod.

Thanks,

Did you not sync your contacts with Google? Because you can just log into the Google account with the phone and sync contacts, calendar.

When you backed up to the computer, how did you do that? Which program?

If you use Outlook or Windows Live Mail on your PC, you can automatically, synchronize your contacts and calendar with your Android device, for free, without any third-party software or apps, from anywhere in the world, by following the instrutions at the following link. It's the method that I use for seamlessly synchronzing my two PCs and my Android phone. Works great!
