Contacts' birthdays don't appear anymore in HTC calendar

Dear all,

I've a stock HTC One M8 phone that don't share the contacts birthdays with HTC calendar anymore (in the past it worked flawlessly)..

I've already made a factory restore in the phone and created one contact with it's birthday information in it, but, unfortunately, it still doesn't show the birthday in the HTC calendar application.
I also checked that "HTC Calendar" has permission to "Contacts" information.

My wife has a HTC One M7 phone,and I saw that in her phone's "HTC Calendar" application there's an account called "People" that doesn't appear in my "HTC Calendar" (and I cannot add it because it doesn't appear as an option to add)...

Does anyone know how can I solve this issue?

P.S. My Android version is 6.12.401.4 and HTC Calendar is 8.20.776481.

I also have the same problem on my M9. I am sitting here looking at my old M7 at the same as you! No idea why its like that if its just an HTC android / calendar version thing or some of what I have read on similar samsung issues claim its because google wants you to add birthdays to google contacts? Can anyone help? Can we expect a update or fix from HTC? Is there any 3rd party app or plugin like on the old MEEGO phones to allow this?

Corrected my Android version.. (was incorrectly 3.12.401.4 instead of 6.12.401.4) :-!
