contacts gone

i rooted my phone did everything i was told to do but none of my contacts are showing up everything is gone. and i when i go into steup device and go to bakup assiatant it just says force close...any ideas or answers thanks!!

Weird. Rooting your phone would never remove/delete all your contacts. What else did you do/install after rooting? I'm guessing you didn't have a backup?

Also, aren't your contacts synced to your google account? Are you properly signed in to your google account on your phone? If so they should automatically sync and appear.

I wouldn't recommend using backup assistant through VZW anyway, that thing is a pain and doesn't work properly half the time.

well i always used the verizon backup assistant,,, but everytime i would go into it forced closed. well is there a way i cant take the rom of and just go back to stock?

Wait - let's not get too extreme here. Can you get into backup assistant on your computer? If so, export all your contacts into a csv. Import those into your google account at contacts.google.com. They will automatically sync to your phone. Problem solved.

So you did install a custom ROM then? Which one? Did you make a backup first? If not, and you really want to get back to stock, do a search for R3l3as3d Root on rootzwiki.com, I think that should get you back. You can use that to reroot/forever root at the same time.

That's what I would do lol. I remember when I first got the phone, I bluetoothed all the contacts to my phone and synced them to Google. I know that some developers dropped Backup Assistant for just pure Google syncing, which often works better anyways.
