Contacts missing after nougat update on att s7 edge

Got the nougat update today and upon restarting my phone, all my contacts save for a few have disappeared. What gives?

Got the nougat update today and upon restarting my phone, all my contacts save for a few have disappeared. What gives?

Having the same problem, had over 100 contacts and now down to 20. Had them backed up in the google account too and they're gone. Also backed up on the sim and sd but it won't even recognize that there's an SD in the phone. Did a ton of research and not the only one having issues with this update. Tried a bunch of things but it's not helping. Last resort is to factory reset.
